Is there anything we left out? Or would you like to share feedback with us regarding our extension service? Reach out to us via support@lazarouhairsalons.co.uk and help us provide the best hair extensions in Cardiff. Hair Extensions Cardiff You are playing with the idea of embarking on your hair extension journey? We are all here for it! Hair extensions are incredibly versatile, transforming short or thinning hair into long, volumous locks for that special occasion or everyday wear. But what is there to know? We have consulted our in-house extension technicians and prepared a guide for you with some of your FAQs: Q#1: How long does it take to have my hair extensions fitted from start to finish? Q#2: What are the best hair extensions for me? Q#3: What kind of hair do you use in the salon? Q#4: How much do hair extensions cost? Q#5: How long do extensions last? Q#6: Once fitted, how do I take care of my extensions? Q#7: How do I style my extensions? Can I use heat on my extensions? Q#1: How long does it take to have my hair extensions fitted from start to finish? Your entire hair extension journey takes roughly 3 appointments consisting of (1) your initial consultation, (2) the actual fitting appointment and (3) the extension maintenance/aftercare appointment. Q#2: What are the best hair extensions for me? (How do I How do I choose the right type of extensions for my hair?) Before visiting our salon consider the aesthetics you would like to achieve (i.e your ideal hair look), the time and effort you are prepared to invest in maintaining your extensions and consider how active your lifestyle is. Based on these elements you and our extension technician will then - during your initial hair extension consultation - discuss the most appropriate hair extensions that correspond with your desired look and match your degree of maintenance and lifestyle. In our salon we currently specialise in tape and nano extensions . We have a pool of over 200 colour shades to choose from plus all our extension technicians also are colourists, allowing us to colour match your extensions to your natural or desired hair colour shade. Q#3: What kind of hair do you use in your salon? We use 100% human remy hair, which is double-drawn. Let’s dive into the terminology further: What is remy hair? Remy hair is considered the finest quality of human hair: The cuticles are kept intact which allows our technicians to align the hair cuticle in the hairs natural direction achieving a natural look and feel of the extensions. What is the difference between single-drawn and double-drawn extensions? Extensions are strands of hair sewn into wefts. Single-drawn extensions are thicker on the top and thin out towards the end. Double drawn extensions are fuller, all hair is nearly the same length and the same thickness from the root to the tip of the extension strand to achieve a full, volumous body of hair. Q#4: How much do hair extensions cost? Our extension service is unique to every client as we adept the extensions to fit your natural hair and lifestyle. The pricing reflects that and depends on the amount of hair extensions we will order for you, the time it takes to fit them and the colour matching. To have a better understanding of our pricing structure, please see a pricing example here . Q#5: How long do extensions last? Our double-drawn remy hair extensions have a life-span of up to 12-18 months depending on the appropriate aftercare and maintenance. The right aftercare is as much a commitment of our technician to fit your extensions with utmost care and expertise as well as your commitment to look after them outside the salon. Q#6: Once fitted, how do I take care of my extensions? There are three golden rules when it comes to keeping your extensions happy: Brush, brush, brush . In order to ensure the longevity of your extensions, make sure you brush them regularly to avoid any tangling. The braid, your good night ritual. Try and get into the habit of braiding your hair or wearing your hair in a low ponytail to – again – avoid tangling. Sulphate-free shampoo, your new BFF. Once your extensions are fitted, swap to salon-grade sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner. The formula will clean your hair thoroughly while maintaining your extensions’ quality and colour. During your initial consultation and throughout your fitting appointment our extension technicians will talk you through all further necessary aftercare and maintenance steps. You will be equipped with a take-home leaflet to remind you of all there is to know plus an extension aftercare-kit consisting of sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner. Q#7: How do I style my hair extensions? Can I use heat on my extensions? As we use 100% human remy hair extensions, you can style your extensions the same way as your natural hair and use heated styling tools - we always recommend to use heat protection! The key to hair extensions? Make them yours! From added length, volume or colourful highlights for that special occasion or everyday wear, the choice is yours and we are here to help! • Say goodbye to frizzy hair in winter

Happy Tuesday everyone! The last month of the year is finally here and oh what a year it has been. Whether you are dreading the end of the year or anticipating it, December has lots in store for us: cozy nights at home, comfort food, warm drinks, Christmas, more time with our loved ones BUT also freezing cold, dry weather. We hate to break it to you but this cold, dry, often drizzly weather also favours frizzy hair! Let’s have a look behind that unruly hairy mess and find some hair hacks, so we can rightfully say: Goodbye Frizz, it´s the season to be jolly! First things first: What is frizz? What causes frizzy hair? The hairs outermost layer - the hair cuticle - is made up of little shingles, which ideally lie flat. When hair is dry and lacks moisture, the cuticles open up, the hairs structure roughens and the hair gets unruly and frizzy. Three of the main causes for frizz are: hair damage, certain hair types, the weather: (1) Hair Damage: Damaged hair is less able to retain moisture and more prone to frizz. Especially dry, split ends can favour frizz as split ends travel up the hair shaft causing more damage. Regular haircuts help prevent breakages and further damage. (2) Your Hair Type Due to its make-up certain hair types are naturally more coarse in its structure and more prone to frizz than others - this is especially true for curly or wavy hair. (3) The Weather Frizz loves conditions that we don’t: Humidity in summer and cold, dry temperatures in winter. Humid summer weather brings your hair cuticle to swell and to roughen up, cold winter weather extracts moisture from your hair leaving it weak and brittle. As much as we are exposed to changing weather conditions and temperature imbalances, the good news is that there are a few do´s and don'ts worth knowing to avoid your hair from frizzing up: Say Nay to: Any textures that roughen and lift your hair (cuticle). Your hair is most fragile when it is wet. Instead of using harsh towels, swap to microfibre towels or soft cotton T-shirts to absorb excess water when washing your hair. Ingredients in hair care products that dehydrate your hair, such as sulfates or alcohol, or silicones that can build a barrier around your hair. Too high water temperatures when washing your hair. It strips your hair off essential oils, use lukewarm water instead. Say Yay to: Moisture, moisture, moisture in the form of pampering hair masks, leave-in conditioners, or hair oils to replenish your hair. Our favourite hair oil and the one we use in our salon is Moroccan Oil . It is immensely hydrating, nourishing and strengthening without weighing your hair down. Plus, a little goes a long way: 1-2 pumps are enough to give your hair that salon-like shine. EXTRA TIP : Apply leave-in products straight onto your wet hair to avoid frizz from building. Blow-drying your hair in direction of your hair growth, so from your roots down to close your hair cuticles. Ideally use an ionic hair dryer and thermal protectant spray for best results. Being prepared for these icy, cold, dry winds: If you know that your hair will go crazy, tie it up. Hair-ups can be stylish and your bad-hair saviour at once. If all of these remedies don’t do your hair justice and you are looking for a long-term alternative to combat frizz, we have an in-salon solution for you: Salon De-Frizz Treatments At our Duke Street salon we offer Goldwell´s Kerasilk De-Frizz and Smoothing Treatment and an organic option by MyOrganics . Both treatments are specifically designed to combat frizzy hair. The treatment is a step-by-step process of about 2-3h in which our stylists apply products tailored to your hairs needs, heat-seal those, wash your hair and dry it again - this will be repeated. The treatment tames frizz, smoothes the hair texture and retains moisture in the hair, making it manageable, smooth and shiny for up to 3-5 months. You don’t know what to expect from the treatment, here are a few recent de-frizz hair transformations for you: (1) before & after, using Goldwell´s Keratin De-Frizz Smoothing Treatment (2) before & after, using MyOrganics MyKeratin Treatment Let us know your ideal outcome of the treatment and we will adapt the formula when mixing it. Please come in for a prior, free consultation - including a hair analysis - so we can discuss your hair problem, wish outcome and most suitable treatment formula. Do you have any questions? We love and equally hate to say: Welcome back from Summer! September is often the first month of routines kicking back in, of returning to busy school and work schedules. At the same time September can be the month of new beginnings and big opportunities. For two of our team members it brought about a great change we would like to share with you: We are very excited to announce that Rachel is our newly appointed Salon Director and Jaymie our new Senior Director! Congratulations Rachel Lloyd & Jaymie Glover, we couldn’t be happier for the both of you! To celebrate the occasion and to get to know them better, we did a little Q&A with Rachel - read below or watch here - and Jaymie, see here . Rachel is the most experienced stylist in our Lazarou Duke Street salon, she has been a hairdresser for 24 years. Her wealth of knowledge about hairdressing, her passion, dedication and utmost care with every single client are only some of her winning characteristics. But how did Rachel start her career in hairdressing? “When I was 14 years old I did my first work experience in a hair salon called Sweeney’s and I absolutely loved it. 24 years later hairdressing still does not feel like a job to me, it’s my absolute passion!” Lazarou: What does it mean to you to be the Salon Director? Rachel : “Being the salon director makes me realise how far I have come in the industry. Whether you are a salon director or a shampooist, we all treat each other with the respect that we deserve in our roles. All job roles help the salon to run efficiently as a professional establishment and a good fun, sociable place to work in.” What is the best part of your day? “The best part of the day is the morning, when we are all gearing up for the day ahead. We take time to prepare the salon, talk about the day ahead and create a good atmosphere for our clients.” What is the best thing about working at Lazarou? “The best thing about working at Lazarou is the opportunities you have - I did my Master Colour Course 3 years ago, it was a very intense course but hugely beneficial at the same time. There is also a good bunch of staff we have, when we first opened there were only 3 or 4 of us and now we have grown to a fantastic team.” What is your number 1, go-to hair product? “ Moroccan Oil is my go-to, it is the remedy for frizzy and dry hair and one of the purest hair oils you can find. Bond Pro Reconstruction Spray is another favourite of mine as well. Bond Pro is an important part of our colouring services - we recommend it to our colour clients as it protects the bonds in your hair, revitalising while colouring it.” One hair care tip all your clients should know? “The one hair care tip everyone should know is to invest in good tools and products, remember: think of your hair like it’s your skin.” What will be the biggest hair trend in 2021? “The hair trend for fall in 2021 is the shag haircut and loads of different layers, the boyfriend bobs and the glossy smooth blow-dries.” Would you like to see more of Rachel’s work? • Hot & Trendy: Our go-to hairstyles this summer

After “summer-proofing” your hair care routine , it is now time to enjoy the summer: Keep feeling gorgeous with our round-up of the top looks to breeze through the holidays and beyond. These hairstyles will help you withstand any weather condition, from hot and stuffy air to humid, rainy weather. 1 | Waves Easy to style and easy to maintain, waves are our favourite look this summer. Especially in a beachy windblown look, waves make every summer outfit look cool. Instead of using heat from a straightener or curler, give your hair a break and apply sea salt spray or mousse instead. Massage a small amount of the product in the lower part of your hair, this will be enough to give your hair effortlessly stylish waves without weighting down your hair too much. No product at all? Braid your wet hair overnight - the smaller the braided section, the wavier the hair. No one styles wavy hair as iconic, chic and stylish as Blake Lively: ©Getty Images 2 | Ponytail The most iconic hairstyle is here to stay - ponytails are our easy go-to hairstyle when time is short and your hair a mess. This season the ponytail comes in various forms: Balloon ponytails are relatively new, trendy and functional at once. Section off your hair by using colourful ribbons and fluffing each hair segment. Maria Menounos | ©Getty Images For a more dramatic look, take your hair back in a sleek ponytail . This sophisticated, yet perfectly wearable pony will keep you look cool and classy all-day long. Give the traditional ponytail an edge by wrapping a hair strain around your hair and tie it with bobby pins. This style is an easy way of taking your ponytail from day to night. ( Wrapped Ponytail ) For all wavy but not too wavy ladies out there, embrace your natural hair structure and take your hair up to a tousled ponytail . Lean back when taking your hair up to add volume, tie your hair high up and loosen the front section of your hair to create an effortlessly looking “va-va-voom” ponytail. Amy Adams | © Getty Images Or you could give your ponytail a romantic twist by adding braided sections in any kind of form. ( Braided Ponytail ) Our top tip for styling any kind of ponytail: Texturizing spray – its lightweight texture but strong hold helps you build definition, hold and a pliable finish. 3 | Braids and Bunches Messy side braids, intricate bunches, tight twin plaits – set your creativity free, the number of hair styles is endless. Braids and bunches make a stylish and practical statement in the sun. They are styled within minutes, help to keep your hair out of your face, look super chic and will leave you ready for any occasion. What about combining beach waves with loose braids, like all-time favourite Jessica Alba shows: Jessica Alba ©Getty Images | VCG 4 | Accessories From international runways to your local home, hair accessories rule the beauty and fashion scene at the moment. They come in various forms, shapes and sizes to upstyle any kind of hair style – try complementing flowing locks or perfecting an up-do with pearl clips, floral or crystal headbands. They are quick, fun, easy to use and extremely functional at the same time. Fashion Icon, Designer and Influencer Alexa Chung shows how to rock hair accessories: From beachy waves to sleek high ponytails, the hairstyles above help you tackling any bad hair day, so get your scrunchies and bobby pins out and get ready to style. It has huge benefits on someones hair and hair health and has elements to achieve the best hair results. When it comes to products I always recommend conditioning and leave-in serums, they deeply nourish and replenish to bring the best out of the hair. L: One hair care tip everyone should know/live by? V: When you can, use a salon-grade shampoo. It is the key to protecting your hair. Especially when it comes to ensuring the longevity of your salon colour, colour shampoo is a must. Plus, use heat protection at all times. L: In your opinion, what is the next big hair trend? V: Shades of red, amber, orange are definitely here to stay for the foreseeable future. When it comes to cutting, we can definitely see a rise in short haircuts and any variation of choppy layers. • Hair Extensions in Summer: Top Tips from Our Hair Extension Experts

Hair extensions offer length, volume, and style versatility for summer. Proper care promises longevity to make the investment worthwhile. Hair extensions can be a great addition to an individual’s summer beauty routine. Not only do hair extensions add length and volume to the hair, but they also provide versatility and convenience allowing individuals to experiment with different hairstyles ranging from natural looks to bold hair statements. The hot and humid weather can make it difficult to maintain long hair without it becoming frizzy and unmanageable. Hair extensions are not subject to the same wear and tear as natural hair, as they are not attached to the scalp and, hence, not affected by natural oils produced by the scalp that can cause tangling and matting. Depending on the type of extensions, certain hair extensions can be pre-styled, which means that they require less daily maintenance and styling compared to natural hair. Hair extensions can also be easily removed and replaced, which means that they can be changed more frequently to suit different styles and occasions, without causing damage to the natural hair. Hair Extension Trends Hair extensions have become an increasingly popular trend for anyone who wants to enhance their natural hair or experiment with new hairstyles. There are two distinct hair extension trends that have emerged in recent years: natural-looking hair extensions and colourful statement pieces. While both trends have their own unique benefits, they cater to different styles and preferences. Natural-looking hair extensions are designed to blend seamlessly with the natural hair, providing a subtle boost of volume and length without looking obvious or fake. Colourful hair extension pieces are designed to make a bold statement and add a pop of colour to the hair. These extensions can be made from synthetic or human hair, and are available in a wide range of vibrant colours and patterns. They can be used to create a variety of styles, from subtle highlights to bold streaks of colour. Many hair extension experts and influencers have embraced both trends, and are encouraging others to experiment with different styles and looks. "Hair extensions are a great way to express personal styles and enhance a client’s natural hair. Whether a client prefers natural-looking extensions or colourful statement pieces, there is an option out there that fits every unique style.”, the hair extension team at Lazarou Hair Duke Street agrees. The correct fit is vital to make the investment worthwhile “When it comes to deciding on the type of hair, choosing high-quality, human remy hair extensions is an investment worth making. Remy hair is considered the highest quality of hair extensions as the cuticles are kept intact and align in one direction. This creates a more natural and seamless look. This means that remy hair extensions are less likely to tangle, mat or shed, providing a more comfortable and long-lasting wear.” says Rachel, salon director and one of our leading hair extension technicians at Lazarou Hair Duke Street. “At Lazarou Hair Duke Street we specialise in tape hair and nano-ring hair extensions. We and our clients appreciate them for their durability and low maintenance.” Tape and nano-ring hair extensions are designed to withstand the heat and humidity of summer, making them ideal for outdoor activities and beach vacations. When fitted correctly, they require minimal maintenance and styling, making them a convenient option for those who want to spend less time on their hair during the summer months. Since both types of hair extensions are attached to the client’s natural hair using adhesive or small metal rings, it is important to work with a professional stylist who is experienced in installing and caring for tape hair extensions or nano-ring hair extensions to minimise the risk of damage to the client’s natural hair and to ensure the longevity of hair extensions. Experienced hair extension technicians will also ensure that the client is aware of appropriate aftercare steps that take into consideration the client’s hair type and lifestyle. In order to make the investment last, the Lazarou Hair Duke Street extension team advises clients to follow these aftercare steps: + Avoid washing your hair for at least 48 hours after getting tape/nano-ring extensions installed. This will give the extension pieces enough time to fully bond with the natural hair. + Use a gentle sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner when washing your hair. Avoid using any products that contain alcohol or oil as they can break down the tape adhesive and cause the extensions to slip out. + When washing your hair, be gentle and avoid rubbing or tugging on the extensions. Instead, use a gentle patting motion to cleanse your scalp and hair. + Avoid using hot styling tools such as straighteners or curling irons directly on the tape bonds/nano-rings. Instead, use a low heat setting and a heat protectant spray to style your hair. + Brush your hair regularly, but be gentle around the tape bonds/nano-rings. Use a soft-bristled brush or a special extension brush to avoid pulling on the bonds and causing damage. For more information, please visit our dedicated Hair Extension Page or book a free consultation with one of our hair extension technicians via our FRESHA booking system .

Rob: It was an amazing feeling not just for myself but for the whole Lazarou Team. (2) Lazarou: The Global Creative Awards is a prestigious competition with participants from around the world. What do you think sets your creative hair cutting techniques apart and earned you this nomination? Rachel: Everyone is so unique in their creative approach. For me, it's all about finding inspiration in unexpected places. For instance, working across Cardiff Castle, the combination of geometrical shapes inspired me to create my haircut. Rob: I have experienced and learned a lot throughout my 34 years in the hair industry having worked for some of the leading salons in the UK and I think I am still eager to push boundaries with my passion and creativity. (3) Lazarou: Being nominated alongside industry luminaries such as Stevan Dulay and Jacob Scully must be incredibly gratifying. How do you feel about being recognised among such accomplished professionals? Rachel : It is a tremendous privilege, and I feel both proud and humbled to be recognised alongside such accomplished professionals. It is truly inspiring to be part of this league. Rob: I feel incredibly proud at 50 years of age still creating looks competing against younger talented hairdressers I was doing competitions when I was their age and still doing them now. (4) Lazarou: The Global Creative Awards is not just a competition but also an opportunity for participants to learn from each other and exchange ideas. (5) Lazarou : Could you share with us some insights into your creative process when coming up with innovative hair cutting styles? Where do you draw inspiration from? Rachel : I draw inspiration from various sources, but the current fashion trends always inspire me. I also love challenging myself; for example, I recently completed a Master Colourist course, which broadened my understanding of colour techniques. Rob: I get my inspiration from music, magazines, and a vision when I look at a model in front of me and draw all my experience to create a stunning look. (6) Lazarou : Throughout your careers, you have pushed the boundaries of hair cutting and styling. Can you tell us about a particularly challenging or groundbreaking project or moment that you are proud of? Rachel: Accomplishing my Master Colourist course was definitely one of them. It is a 6 weeks intense colour course, which I thoroughly enjoyed as it challenged and broadened my understanding of colour techniques to equal measures. I get to use the information everyday. Rob: One of my proudest moments was when I had the opportunity to work with Tony&Guy, opening my own franchise in Windsor. I had to present 12 models in front of the Tony&Guy Artistic Team in London, and it was a monumental achievement for me. (7) Lazarou: The Global Creative Awards ceremony is highly anticipated, and attendees from around the world are eager to see the top winners in each category. How are you preparing for the big day? Rachel: We are planning to share our excitement on social media, and amongst the team we have regular meetings to discuss our preparations and expectations. We can't wait for the big day! Rob: I am excited to be involved and I am just going with the flow. (8) Lazarou: The Global Creative Awards encompass various categories. Are there any specific hair cutting techniques or styles you would like to explore or master in the future? Rachel: As hairstylists current fashion trends always inspire us, so my focus is to keep up to date with them and to continuously improve my skills. Rob: I have never been particularly interested in colour, mainly because I am colour blind. However, I would love to explore more avant-garde hairstyles. It is a real art form that I am eager to learn more about. (9) Lazarou: As finalists in the National Creative Haircutter category, you inspire aspiring hair stylists. • Let’s embrace the Chill: Our Ultimate Winter Haircare Guide for 2023

Winter has arrived, and with it comes a chill that tingles the senses. While we love the Winter Wonderland, our hair often faces the harsh reality of the cold season. Winter proofing your hair care routine is key to keep your hair healthy and shiny. From winter hair colour, winter hairstyles, winter haircuts to winter hair trends in 2023, finding a balance between keeping your locks healthy yet stylish throughout the colder months is the key. Our expert stylists at Lazarou are here to guide you through the winter hair trends of 2023, ensuring your hair radiates beauty even when the temperatures drop. I. Winter Hair Care Routine: Nurturing Your Hair in the Frosty Embrace Let’s get the foundation of your winter haircare right: Moisture is Key In the winter months, the dry air can suck the life out of your hair, leaving it brittle and dry. Begin your winter haircare routine with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner to replenish lost moisture. Look for products rich in natural oils like argan and jojoba for an extra boost.  Our current hero products are: The MoroccanOil Hydrating shampoo* is sulfate-free, its forumla combines high-performing cleansing agents with antioxidant-rich argan oil. Suitable for all hair types from frizzy, curly hair types to thick or thin strands. KMS TameFrizz* range improves the hairs manageability and provides up to 100% frizz reduction. Its formula includes Babassu for healthy looking and nourished hair as well as Acacia which is known for its moisturising properties. Goldwell’s Rich Repair Range*  is ideal for dry to damaged hair. Its IntraLipid Complex repairs the hair from the inside out as it regenerates the inner hair structure.  *Available in our Lazarou Duke Street/Cardiff Castle store. (1) ©Moroccanoil / (2) ©kmshairpro / (3) ©goldwelluki Weekly Indulgence: Deep Conditioning Delight Pamper your hair with a luxurious deep conditioning treatment at least once a week. This intensive conditioning treatment helps to repair and nourish hair that may have been exposed to harsh weather conditions. Opt for masks infused with nourishing ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E to restore vitality and combat winter-induced damage. Our current fave is the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask* . Formulated with organ oil and nourishing ingredients, the deep conditioning mask restores moisture, elasticity and adds shine to dry hair. *Available in our Lazarou Duke Street/Cardiff Castle store. Combat the Static: Leave-In Conditioner Magic Static hair can be a winter woe. Combat it with a leave-in conditioner that tames frizz and imparts a silky finish. A lightweight formula is ideal to avoid weighing down your locks. Invest in a quality leave-in conditioner or a nourishing hair oil to create a protective barrier against the cold, windy weather. These products not only add an extra layer of hydration but also assist in preventing breakage and split ends.  Our hero products are the: Moroccanoil Leave-In Conditioner : Suitable for all hair types, this lightweight spray instantly detangles, hydrates and protects against heat damage. It is proven to reduce breakage by 49%. It contains a superfood blend of sunflower oil (moisturising and conditioning), quinoa extract (smoothes the hair and increases shine) and barley extract (antioxidants). The KMS Moist Repair Leave-In Conditioner* is ideal for normal to dry hair, it instantly detangles and conditions the hair without weighing it down. Aloe Vera adds extra nourishment to the hair and Vanilla adds to healthy looking hair.  *Available in our Lazarou Duke Street/Cardiff Castle store. (1) & (2) ©Moroccanoil / (3) ©kmshairpro In addition to your product choices, consider these additional steps: + Adjusting your washing frequency: Washing your hair less frequently during the winter can help maintain its natural oils, preventing excessive dryness. When washing, use lukewarm water instead of hot water, as hot water can strip your hair of essential oils. + Don't forget about your scalp health. A dry scalp can lead to dandruff and itchiness. Incorporate a nourishing scalp oil into your routine to keep it moisturised. Look for ingredients known for their soothing and hydrating properties, like argan oil or rosemary oil for example. + Protecting your hair from the elements is crucial. When it comes to styling, opt for hairstyles that minimise exposure to the elements. Braids, buns, stylish scarves or other protective styles can shield your hair from the harsh winter winds, reducing the risk of damage. By incorporating these additional steps into your winter hair care routine, you can create a hair care routine that shields your hair from the harsh winter conditions and ensures it stays healthy, shiny, and resilient. II. Winter Hair and Beauty: A Symphony of Elegance in the Snow Typically winter is not associated with trying new hairstyles or scavenging the shops for new accessories but winter hair in 2023 promises to be exciting: Accessorise with Elegance: Winter Hair Jewelry & Hair Bows Elevate your winter style with the season's hottest trend: winter hair jewelry and hair bows. Think delicate snowflake hairpins, crystal-embellished headbands, or ponytail cuffs to add a touch of glamour to your hair. Bows are another easy buy yet sophisitcated way to elevate your hair game this season. Protect and Shine: Silk Scarves and Satin Pillowcases Cold weather can strip your hair of essential oils, leading to dullness. Wrap your hair in a silk scarf when braving the cold to minimise damage from the elements. Additionally, using a satin pillowcase reduces friction, preventing breakage and preserving your hairstyle while you sleep. ©LELET NY via PINTEREST III. Winter Hair Colours: Painting the Season with Vibrancy Have you ever wondered which hair colour is best for winter or what is the winter hair colour trend for 2023? Let’s divide into the winter hair colour trends in 2023. Winter Hair for Blondes: Icy Elegance Blondes can embrace the winter vibes with icy hues. Shades like platinum blonde, silver, and cool beige are one of our all-time favourites. These shades not only complement the winter landscape but also convey elegance and sophistication at once. Winter Hair for Brunettes: Rich, Warm Tones For brunettes, winter is the perfect time to indulge in rich, warm tones. Deep chocolate browns, chestnut, and caramel hues add depth and dimension to your hair, creating a cozy and inviting look that mirrors the season. Winter Hair for Reds: Adding hot to the cold Whether you are a natural or chosen by the colour tube, redheads can play around this winter: from customizable colour blocking to a highly customizable modern aubern, there is no limit to the red shade our team can mix. ©Lazarou Duke Street/Lazarou Cardiff Castle | (1) by Tegan, (2) by Mollie, (3) by Laney IV. Winter Hair Styles 2023: Runway-Inspired Elegance Frosty Braids: Ethereal Elegance Intricate braid styles aka sculptural braids capture the magic of the season. Whether it's a loose fishtail, a French braid or a crown braid mixed with hair accessories, the style options are endless. Sleek Elegance: Winter Sleek Ponytail For a sophisticated winter look, opt for a sleek low ponytail. Add a twist by wrapping a strand of hair around the hair tie for a polished finish or a velvet bow to elevate the look. This style effortlessly complements winter coats and cozy scarves, making it a go-to for chilly days. Pixie Perfection: Winter Ready Short Hair Short hair doesn't mean sacrificing style in the winter. Subtle layers and strategic texturing can really elevate the pixie cut this season. A low-maintenance style that is chic and sassy throughout the season. From your very own winter hair care routine, to your winter haircolour or haircut, are you ready to winter proof your hair game and embrace the season’s trends? Please reach out to our Lazarou team if you have any questions or would like to book your winter hair colour or haircut appointment with one of our stylists or barbers at Lazarou. We got thrown into a whirlwind of workshops, presentations, and tests on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednesday we went straight back to work to repeat the same process for 6 weeks. But you don’t learn without going through a little discomfort and at the same time I gained so much new knowledge and learned new techniques. We had a pair of fantastic educators in Rachael Kelly und Brian Mccallum and we were part of a great group of people. As hard as the MCI journey was, we had just as much fun on it. One of my highlights was definitely meeting hair goddess Beverly Cobella MBE. Lazarou: How will your newly gained knowledge affect the way you work as a colourist? Anna: I am obsessed with the illumination side of the Goldwell colours - it is incredible how @pure pigments @illuminating colours can change hair colours within a sitting. Dody: Spending the afternoon with Beverly C MBE and meeting everyone at Goldwell really stood out for me but really every moment was amazing. Lazarou: What's next for you? That actually motivated me to put myself out there more, I have just entered the UK Beauty Awards for Hair Extensionist of the year. Dody: I will implement all I have learned into my work from day one and I am excited to help educate our younger team members, who are new to colour. At the same time I am excited to get back into competitions like Colour Zoom this year.
